The Beardmore Hotel & Conference Centre was delighted to win at the Scottish Hotel Awards 2012:

Staff are rising stars of the night

A dynamic duo from the Beardmore Hotel and Conference Centre cleaned up at a recent industry awards ceremony.

Sasha Paton, the Clydebank hotel’s Audit Supervisor, was presented with the Management Commendation 2010 award, while Richard Archer, Food and Beverage Assistant, took the Rising Star 2010 title at the 2010 Scottish Hotel Awards.

The awards – dubbed the ‘Scottish Hotel Oscars’ –  are the result of inspections, interviews, consumer feedback and nominations, industry intelligence and critic analysis.

Speaking after the ceremony in Edinburgh, Sasha Paton – who has worked at the hotel for 15 years, said: “The Beardmore Hotel and Conference Centre has won many accolades over the years and as a team we are all proud of those successes as we embrace every opportunity to build on the venue’s impressive reputation.

“As there was extremely tough competition, I did not expect to win the Management Commendation award. I am thrilled to have received this award; it is an incredible achievement for the Beardmore in addition to being an individual success.”

The NHS-owned facility is the venue of choice for business clients and was also named Scottish Business Hotel of the Year at the awards ceremony.

Richard Archer, who has worked at the Beardmore for six years, said: “I was overwhelmed to have been considered for the Rising Star award and stunned when I heard my name being called as the winner. I was so proud to win but it is a credit to The Beardmore as I would never have won this award without the high level of support and training I receive. It is a great place to work.”
