The Beardmore Hotel & Conference Centre was delighted to win at the Scottish Hotel Awards 2012:
Staff proud to manage their careers
A group of 22 staff from the NHS National Waiting Times Centre have recently completed their SVQ level three in Management.
The men and women, representing staff from across the Golden Jubilee National Hospital and Beardmore Hotel and Conference Centre, spent the past 12 months working towards the qualification.
The training was offered to staff in conjunction with our friends at Motherwell College, and was a mixture of classroom and personal learning.
The internationally recognised qualification signifies that you have the management knowledge, skills and ability to carry out your role to a standard defined by the industry.
Jill Young, Chief Executive of the NHS National Waiting Times Centre, presented certificates to staff who successfully completed the course.
She said: “I am delighted that so many of our staff, from such a wide range of departments, have been successful in completing the SVQ level three in management.
“As an NHS employer we support employees learning and development goals. By investing in our staff, our organisation can only benefit from the achievements of those who have completed this qualification.
“Wherever their careers take them in the future, those achieving the SVQ have shown that they have a set level of competency in management which is relevant and transferable in today’s workplace.”
Staff who completed the course came from hospital departments including engineering, human resources, clinical governance, housekeeping and pharmacy. Staff from the hotel’s conference and food and beverage teams also took part.
